Armored Hero R # 1 - The Escape

Chapter 1 - The Escape

I don't know what happened...one moment I had it all worked out. a loving family, a fun job, and good health. But now am here locked in a jail cell wondering if I'll ever get out. The sky was full of them, aliens from space! I was speechless and quite honestly scared...they came in ships larger than life and the armored aliens coming out of the ships just kept killing, no words or warnings just...killing! It's an inescapable nightmare. I was at the hobby store at the time this all happened, I was GMing another session with the customers like it was any other day and as the news came on the TV we must have thought they would only affect one area, not the whole planet. I had to escort the customers to safety before I could meet with my family. but as I was escorting the customers to safety the aliens attacked the store just as fast as they attacked any other place on Earth. I fled with the rest of the people in the store to wherever we could find safety but eventually, we were caught by the aliens. Instead of killing us like the rest they captured us, but why? we're just civilians running for our lives?

Hours passed as I thought to myself about the current situation. I could hear voices from people I knew calling for freedom. some were angry and others sounded like they were crying. I think I was just too scared to do either. the door at the end of the hall opened up like something out of a sci-fi movie. The figure was another alien but this one looked different, he was in a sort of science labcoat. It looked similar enough to a labcoat at least. he walked up to my cell and spoke in my own tongue! He says "Why are you silent in your suffering? Don't you desire freedom like the rest of your race?" I stood speechless even as I was asked, just what does this guy want from me!?

He continued "Despite your silence you appear strong enough for the device so let's cut to the chase, if you want to free yourself you'll need this." He pulls out a belt with a bulky-looking machine in the center. It looked just like something out of Kamen Rider. I broke through my fears to ask "Is that a Driver?" I was so taken aback by the sudden appearance of something that looked like a child's toy but no it seems this alien was giving me a driver of some kind. I walked up and took the driver out of his hand and started putting it on. The alien spoke once more. "So you are similar with this kind of device, seems that theater shows on your planet prepared you for this day...listen, am risking everything giving this weapon to you and it's only a matter of time before the loyalists discover my betrayal. If you want to free these people and yourself use the device and break the locks on the cells and follow me, I know of an escape out of the castle."

The device truly felt like a Kamen Rider toy, except for the fact it was made for an adult waistline. there were buttons at the sides of the belt and four colored buttons in the center of the bulky device surrounding the orb in the middle. Admittedly I was excited by this driver, I pressed the red button and the device's orb shined a bright red light as a short melody played sounding like a rock-n-roll song. I then pressed the buttons at the sides of the belt and suddenly the light from the belt shot out in front of me in the shape of an armored warrior. the armor then flew into me and like that, I was transformed into a Kamen Rider!

"So you are compatible with the device, now break the lock on your cell using your newfound powers!" Said the alien. I was pumped and quickly kicked the lock and it broke off instantly! Wow. This is incredible! The alien spoke, "Now we can escape this place, come on!" I stopped him with a shoulder grab and said "Wait, what about the rest of the people here...I can't just leave them!" "I understand your point but the escape pod can only fit a single person and your device is the key to stopping our leader Zora from conquering the multiverse at large...I know you must care for these humans but if you can't leave this castle they'll surely be doomed to their fate...escaping now to rescue them in the future is the plan here." "But why help us, aren't you a part of this alien race?" "Zora may have most of our people on his side, but others like myself seek to return to more peaceful times in our empire. Now come on!" the alien lead me through many rooms before we reached the escape pod guarded by a whole squad of soldiers. the ally alien spoke "Quickly, take out those soldiers guarding the pod, your power should be enough to take them on." "W-Wait a moment I just kicked a lock off and you're expecting me to fight five guys at once!?" "You've seen your favorite heroes do the same, why the hesitation?" The guards noticed us at this point and I was forced to act, I guess I have to think more like my favorite heroes to survive this.

I moved up and prepared myself for the incoming attacks, I've taken self-defense classes but never expected to put them to real use until today. The soldiers surrounded me and hacked at me but to my surprise, the armor deflected all the blows dealt to me! When the time came to fight back I stumbled and fell on the ground. the ally alien yelled at me going "What are you doing, you can't be touched by them, FIGHT!" The group of soldiers had me surrounded and began attacking me as a group, the leader of the group struck me with their spear and knocked me even more off balance! I fell on my back as the assault continued. another soldier then struck me hard with his spear, it couldn't pierce the armor but it still hurt like a bitch. The next blow from a soldier didn't hurt as much. I had enough and tried to get up on my feet. I made it with some effort and tried to fight again only to do minimal damage to the enemy, can I not even scratch them!? I focused more on defending the blows being dealt to me knocking aside the many spears being pointed my way. I tried to land a hit on the spearmen by my injuries made it hard to land a bead. Another flurry of spears came but my armor deflected them. Then two of the spearmen attacked wide leaving them more open to an attack, this could be my chance! I was feeling the anger of the past four hours and punched with my heart in it! I struck with such force it felt like a rocket reaching its peak! I shattered the helm of the leader spearman and send him flying only to hit the escape pod behind him. The battle stopped for a moment as if the rest of the soldiers were taking in the sight. I finally bellowed out "Come on!" The defector cheered on "Yes, just like that! Keep at it!" The rest of the soldiers attacked me as I readied myself for the next wave. I tried to strike but I was still being kept at bay with the spears. but with a swift sweep of my arm, I knocked back a soldier leaving him open for a counterattack. but alas they recovered shortly after the strike. The soldiers launched another attack on me. This time they pierced my armor giving me a nasty wound on my chest, was this how I was going to die!? Worst yet I was off balance making their next attack more likely to strike true. Then suddenly the defector alien shouted. "Human, avert your eyes!" I had barely time to react before a small object flew into the center of the combat area which then exploded into a flash of bright light that blinded me, all I could remember next was being pushed by I think the defector and falling into what I soon realized was the escape pod...as I regained my vision I saw the door on the pod close up and on the window, I saw the defector who then said. "You must unlock the power of the Armor Device and stop Zora." I saw another spearman run up behind the defector and before I could warn him he was stabbed in the back by them. I shouted out in dismay "No!" then the defector pushed a button and soon my pod launched out into space before I could say or see anything else.

A few hours passed until another ship appearing from a portal in space moved to my location and then seemingly grappling my pod with wires shot out from the ship. they then took me into the portal with them as they flew deeper and deeper into a space I'd never seen before and I saw a massive space station from my view of the pod I soon blacked out from my fatigue and wounds.

Well Hello and welcome to the first chapter of my yet-to-be-named story. My name is Tommy Lovett and I like to play DnD by myself and so that's where this story is coming from as it's pretty much my solo dnd sessions. But I figured I'd try something new and that's uploading it on a writing website or something as a Kingdom Hearts-style mega-crossover. Of course, we haven't made it to the actual crossover yet at the time of my writing this but I've world built a whole setup to create a massive series crossover of at least a few IPs such as Touhou, Yu-Gi-Oh, and even Sentinels of The Multiverse and maybe even more who knows! Anyways I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of this story and now am off to look for a website to post this crap on.
