Imperfect Game: Genso Wanderer Reloaded

Welcome to Imperfect Game and today am covering Genso Wanderer Reloaded a Rogue-like RPG featuring the Touhou Project IP made and published by Aquastyle. The story of Genso Wanderer is that Rinnosuke finds an orb that turns Gensokyo into a mega dungeon and Rinnosuke into a big bad and it's up to Reimu Hakurei to set things right by adventuring through a bunch of floors of Yokai copies of every character from Touhou Project (at the time at least.) and gain power by leveling up your gear and optimizing your route through the mega dungeon.

First, I just want to say that there is tons of love and care put into this Rogue-like as there are tons of weapons, armor and items that aid in exploring a randomly made dungeon. There is also an item fusion system that lets you tailor make your gear with seals, the seals are passive buffs that when stacked right can make you an unstoppable force. My favorite seals are the ones that increase attack range and the ones that let you pierce enemies in rows. I used a giant Oni spear to carry my first playthrough. there are tons of enemy types that each have their own gimmick like a fast-moving multi-hitting Chen and the Trap laying Tewi. A superhuman Hijiri powering up like a Dragonball Z character. there is good diversity among the types of enemies and what they can do.

The main gameplay loop involves the player going from floor to floor attacking enemies with weapon or item as they level up both their Character (Character level resets each run by the way) and their gear to eventually take on the final boss of the main story and once you finish the main story you have a great deal of post-game content like side stories featuring other characters. and extra dungeons with set rules that change the normal gameplay and encourage you to make use of the item system to craft and use items provided you have the points for fusion and the crafting items required. The bosses are rare, but a polished highpoint of the game and I poured hours into Genso Wanderer on the main story alone.
