Persona 4 Golden is a JRPG/Life Sim game where you use the powers of friendship and Personas to solve a serial killer mystery. I personally had a bit of a tough time playing through this game as it’s not as straightforward as its older brother Persona 3 FES and I had to resort to using guides more than twice. The story is about a high schooler spending the year over in a town called Inaba out in the countryside where you interact with and bond with charming characters like a street punk that loves cute things or a retired pop idol not to mention the talking mascot blue bear. While solving a murder mystery connected to a supernatural TV show called the Midnight Channel. This leads to entering some kind of TV world where your hero unlocks a power called Persona to fight shadows and save people who are trapped inside the TV world.

The Life sim aspect of the game is called Social Links, if you hang out with specific characters you get bonuses when fusion summoning a Persona when you're not investigating or dungeon crawling, you're hanging out with people and raising your social links in order to empower your personas.

The RPG side of this game is a pure dungeon crawler with premade dungeons and randomized elements like chests and monster spawns. The combat in this game rewards you for exploiting an enemy's weak points and using buffing skills like ones that raise defense or whatever and the combat punishes you for letting the enemy exploit weaknesses of your own and taking too long to end a fight.

As for the story aspects of the game, I am just going to say unless you use a guide or are very smart, you're not getting the good ending the first time through. You have your happy go lucky school anime slice of life mixed with some drama and humor.

Inclosing Persona 4 Golden is a great game for the people patient enough to give it a fair chance and with different difficulty modes I can see myself replaying it on normal mode to maybe see the content I missed on my first playthrough but for now I am spent when it comes to that game. This has been Imperfect Game and thanks for reading.
